Clarification for Perils covered under ICC (B).

Dear All,

With reference to Marine Insurance Policy ICC (B) clause, we request
you to please clarify the terms of coverage. As far as my knowledge
concerned the same covers only Basic Perlis. Recently i have come
across with one write - up taken from internet attached above
regarding broder coverages inclusion such as Handling, loading
unloading losses. please clarify whether the same is correct or not.

Dear All,

Please understand that ICC B shall cover following losses, as mentioned in Cargo Clauses of Marine Insurance Act adapted in 1983 in India. 

 Fortuitous Losses in event of Fire or Explosion, Capsized vessel, Overturing of land conveyance,Collision, Discharge at port of distress(on way), Earthquake, Lightening,GA sacrifice (Total loss for safety of vessel), Jettison, Washing overboard, Entry of water in (truck, vessel, lift van,), total loss of package during loading, unloading from craft or vessel,

It is a named peril policy. Any other peril, than covered above shall be excluded in ICC B. From your querry, it is understood that losses during handling is a question. In my opinion, if the handling loss is accidental then it is coverd under ICC B. Loss during Retrieval to save the consignement from total loss is also payble.
