Dear Members and Friends,

                                                            First of all let me wish you a Happy and Prosperous New Year, and I hope you have all recovered from Christmas!!

 

Our first event of the New Year is a lecture on improvements to Blast Furnace Technology to enable use of lower quality iron ore by Martin P Smith of Siemens, and Colin Notman of Tata Steel Consulting.  Please look at http://www.iom3.org/events/cie-january-lecture?c=3944  for details, and to download a poster.

We are now publicising the IoM3 Young Persons' Lecture Competition, and canvassing for entries.  Details and a poster can be seen at  http://www.iom3.org/events/cie-local-heat-yplc-call-entries?c=3944   Please encourage any young persons to take part.  If you can display or further circulate the poster, that would be much appreciated.
