Dear Members and Friends,  

                                                        A reminder for our next event which is our Founders' Lecture on Tuesday May 7th, which is entitled " Advanced Gasification:

A future proof energy platform", and gives information on a plant being constructed at Teesside.

 

The venue is our usual one, the Centuria Building, No 56 on the University Campus map  --->  http://www.tees.ac.uk/docs/docrepo/about/CampusMap.pdf
We use the Sage car park, which is adjacent, and the barriers will be lowered to give us access at 5:15pm.

CIE AWARD - Information on the CIE Award is also attached.  Deadline has been extended to 14/5/13.  Please encourage any suitable candidates to enter.  There is a £400 cash prize for the winner, and £100 for the runner up.

The CIAS are starting a programme of summer events.  The first one is:-

Subject : - Guided walk around Grinkle Mine

Meet: - Old Road layby just west of Red House Farm (NZ 767 186)

Leader: - Simon Chapman

A visit to the Grinkle Mine where the Cleveland Mining Heritage Group have been working at uncovering the mining remains with the support of the landowner.  It's off the beaten track so plenty of walking will be involved.
