Our next event is our Annual Conference on "Methods of Power Generation" starting at noon (with a buffet) on Tuesday April 16th. So come and learn about power generation from coal to wind farms to fracking! A poster for this is also attached, and if you could print and display this, that would be much appreciated.

The CIE is hosting the Regional Final for the Young Persons' Lecture Competition, on Wednesday 27th March, with the contestants shown below. If you would like to come and give your support, you are most welcome. The event starts with a buffet at 1pm, and the competition starts at 2pm, finishing around 5:30pm. Please let me know if you would like to come by March 20th at the latest, for catering purposes.

Charles H Merz pioneered the use of high voltage three phase AC power in the UK. Building a system in the north east of England in the early twentieth century that became the model for the National Grid.
The March Technical event on Thursday 28th, is a visit to the Tees Valley Nursery at Billingham. To learn how Tomatoes are produced.
Please note the earlier start time, to allow the tour to take place before it gets dark.
Meet at the Tomato nursery for 5:15pm for a 5:30 start.
