TO AWAKEN AND GET UNBURIED

> In Zen Archery one nocks

> Steve L.

Something like the relaxed
physical tenseness of one who
is standing in a state of poise,
yes? All other tensions are absorbed
into the state of conscious relaxed
tension by efforts of the developed
will and attention of the master
archer. All is then in focus
without fetter of negative
emotions. Negative emotions
always manifest as small
mechanical "I"'s
involuntarily.

To ask an aristocrat to close
a door or even to flush the toilet
is too much. Mechanical man would
like to be an aristocrat, held in hypnotic
inducted trance by his slavery to his own
slaves. If we cannot be voluntary, how can
we become a candidate for Real Work in
which we occupy the post of an angelic
invoked presence who has only one
single duty ...

BEING DUTY!!

> What steps can one take
> to admit one's weakness?
> Steve L.

Admit? Of weakness we should
be happy, even give thanks. Weakness
makes possible our work on self and
also for higher obligation. If we
cannot see and understand our
Chief Weakness, then we have
not impartially observed ourselves
and our manifestations.

> Admitting a fault would be
> working with it?
> Steve L.

We can only make from it a
pearl; the grain of sand, the
weakness, serves as the necessary
irritant which provokes the machine
to automatically produce, by reflex,
those exact substances which, if
continuously secreted, eventually form
a basis for the arising of higher bodies,
the activation of which depends upon
additional special efforts of
voluntary evolution, of
being duty.

> How can an ordinary idiot
> acquire conscience?
> Steve L.

By first becoming an Enlightened
idiot, and then descending voluntarily,
because he has as yet no conscience,
which can only be acquired by
voluntarily descending from
enlightened idiot to ordinary
idiot for a period of voluntary
purgatory.

How to awaken and get unburied
is one of the most important questions
you can ever ask yourself,
more important than
whether or not you
will be successful
in life of itself
which comes to
nothing in the
end if it remains
only in terms of
life of itself.

Mt Shasta and OPEN BOOK

My mother experienced a very
intense and clear vision of Mt.
Shasta when we were living
in Ojai, California. During
August of 1968, we journeyed
on a spiritual quest to go to
Mt. Shasta as she felt "called"
to go there. I remember passing
through San Francisco during
the Haight-Ashbury days when
we visited my grandparents.
Finally we made it to Mt. Shasta
and, while there, the hippies were
everywhere skinny dipping in the
mountain streams and walking around
naked everywhere else in the Panther
Meadows area at the tree line. The
whole experience was remarkable.
While there, my mother experienced
another one of her visions and saw a
column of light descend from the sky.

It is not a pestilence of
people, it is a pestilence
of "sane logical mentation"
which must be in terms of
real world psychology and
not of the world of
politics and, in general,
involutionary lines of
cause and effect.

Everything, including
all of the tabloid nonsense
about UFO'S is amplified and

accelerated by increasing cosmic

tension, and then only self-

remembering can help.

It is all agenda!

Agenda communication!

UFOs are not what people
IMAGINE!!

From this point of view, and
from the point of view of the
fourth way, as well as of C.G.
Jung who discovered the truth
of UFOs as nothing more than
hysteria, IT IS ALL IMAGINATION
AND FANTASY!

But because people are lazy and
are always looking for entertain-
ment to distract attention from
their own miserable ordinary
abnormal lives, the tendency
is to fall into a vortex of
mass neurosis and fantasy for
want of something in the depths,
behind the shadows, but do not
know what.

There are many on these channels
who do not have a very high view
of America and do not designate
anyone as an Initiate on the basis
of nationality, but on the basis
of spiritual maturity as though
this was something apart from the
spiritual maturity of a nation, or
of the world, and find this
difficult to understand.

There exists the view that
the founding fathers founded
the United States on masonic
principles and that liberty,
equality and fraternity are
masonic ideals, etc.

Things are not as they appear
to us on the surface and according
to how history is written. Sometimes
I will look into a photograph that
is supposedly, or allegedly, a UFO
and say to myself:

"Wow! It actually looks the shape
of an F-117! You can actually see
in it the shape of Superman with
his cape flowing behind him and
his arms stretched out in front!"

JOSHUA TREE

It happened to me in the high
desert of Joshua Tree northeast
of Los Angeles. It was an event
more real than real. Something
came to me and a friend of mine
that night, namely, Larry "Ahoon,"
although his personal experience
of the event was different than
mine. What he was prepared to
witness is what he experienced.
Mine was intensely more dramatic
and I saw before me and all around
the Cosmic Christ Presence which
coincided with the opening of a
door into a Great Sea of Light.

AN OPEN BOOK

An open book appeared before
me as though I were standing
before a podium and I saw
myself dressed in a white
robe.

An objective characteristic

of such a blissful state of

consciousness is a great and

clean feeling of Love. It can

appear somehow or other

to our inner vision as

a point of light coming

through the front door

of our home, and a

death can happen

at that moment what

seems like a loss

of all physical

sensing of oneself

and then instantly come

back while looking up at

the ceiling which can have

the appearance of being all

broken up into puzzle pieces

with all of the pieces reblending

and reforming into a crystallized

whole of a "something" in what is

called in this work the Higher

Emotional Center, effulgent.

REAL CHANGES OF MIND AND HEART

To voluntarize our moods, that
is to say, to actually orchestrate
and "choreograph" them can activate
the Higher Emotional Body. Conscious
voluntarization of our moods in a public
place such as the local shopping mall or
at Wal-Mart among the mechanical men
and women who "work" as well as shop
there is considered by them as impolite
and even psychotic. The difference is in
terms of conscious, but how do you
explain this to someone who
"imagines" that he or she is
already conscious in terms of
ordinary life? ... and so does
not know the difference. You
don't! This is why voluntarization
is necessary, and the key for applying
such an ability of Real "I" as this is in
understanding that the emotions of
"voluntary hysteria," "voluntary delirium"
and "voluntary ecstasy", for example, are
very different than their involuntary
relations what ordinary life science
of so-called "psychiatry" calls

"schizophrenia" but, in reality, is
involuntary hysteria associated with
physical violence towards oneself and/
or others, and such lower level
involuntary emotions must not be
mixed with voluntary emotions
because such "emotional arousings"
can interfere with impartiality to
impressions of the surrounding real
world and it is only such voluntary

manifestations that define a
conscious individual, a truly
real man or woman.

The fact remains in that what is
considered as normal behavior among
mechanical men and women in the form
of involuntary moods are the barrier to any
sensing, at all, of an independent inner
psychological life and is, therefore, a
barrier to Real Inner Conscience.

To experience the real changes of mind
and heart that are possible by way of the
voluntary shifting of attention from the
outer ordinary mechanical life of itself
to the inner psychological life is more
effective at arresting physical violence
than any form of physical force and
all of this happens very simply as a
function of living a life that is truly
normal and this is true even in the
midst of conditions and circumstances
of ordinary physically violent life.

Remember it was Gurdjieff who
said in Chapter 14 that the variety
of changes in the presence of the
three-brained beings of earth began
for the most part after the second
misfortune had occurred to the
planet, during which its chief
continent Atlantis disappeared into
the depths of the planet and it was
from that time on when they created
all sorts of conditions of external
being-existence that caused the
quality of their radiations to
go steadily from bad to
worse.

"The various changes in their
presence began for the most part
after the second misfortune had
occurred to this ill-fated planet,
during which its chief continent,
existing under the name of
'Atlantis,' entered within
the planet.

"From that time on, they created
all sorts of conditions of external
being-existence that caused the
quality of their radiations to
go steadily from bad to worse
and Great Nature was thus
compelled gradually to
transform their common
presence through various
compromises and changes, in
order to regulate the quality
of the vibrations they radiated,
which were required chiefly to
preserve the being-welfare of

the former fragments of their
planet.

"For the same reason, Great
Nature gradually increased the
number of beings there to such
an extent that they are now
breeding on all the lands
of that planet."
--Gurdjieff
--ch 14, a perspective, nothing cheerful

During the period of existence of
the ordinary life of humanity since
the time of Atlantis along involutionary
"streams of adaptation" there occurred
the transference of functional duties
which have arisen involuntarily from
the necessities of ordinary life
organic survival as well as
what is called "survival of
the fittest". These secondary
lower level "involuntary centers"
are not really centers but are
spasmodic-reflexive-"nodes"
directing all activities and
behavior according to
mechanical conditioning.
These lower, involuntary,
or "negative" parts of centers
are the source of all negative,
by which we mean involuntary
mentations, moods and
manifestations and it is
only then that physical
violence occurs during a
period of reflexive
mechanical activity,
when the attention of
"presence" is asleep.

Gurdjieff provided a more
precise understanding as well
as formulation for what so-called

modern psychology and "psychiatry"

calls schizophrenia. Formulated in
chapter 13 as the "predominant
part" or "I" on account of the
abnormal conditions of external
ordinary life of itself being-
existence the three-brained-beings
there have gradually established
themselves, and which have
progressively developed in
their common presence along the
usual lines of cause and effect
what has now become the "inner
evil god" for most people on the
Earth, in America, and wherever,
called "self-calming" by way of
weaknesses and habitual vices of
all kinds under the sun, and the
formation of a sort of "morality"
which is automatic and upon which
is based all of their knee-jerk feelings
of so-called "duty," "honor," "conscience,"
"sacrifice," and so, all of this due to the
withdrawal of any effort whatever to
fulfill what is called "being-
partkdolgduty" in the language
of the Tales, the aforementioned
"real changes of mind and heart",
what is conscious labor and intentional
suffering, with the law-conformable
result that the "predominant part"
has allowed the other parts of
their total presence to perceive
every new impression merely as
such impressions are generally
perceived by one or other of
the parts other than the
predominant one, and these
independent localizations are
known as "being-centers."

Study the material written by
Nicoll "WHAT Do You READ
AND LISTEN WITH?" Then
proceed through the material in
the Tales. I cannot help you if you
do not help me. Using this fourth way
method of writing by progression, there
must be reciprocal exchange.

> A further
> explanation of this may help me to
> make the proper connections in my
> daily work.
> N.

Your question is written in the
manner of someone who "expects"
an answer and you are asking me as
though I were somehow obligated.
You do not see this, so please allow
me to show it to you AND THIS IS
THE HELP YOU SEEK! My only
aim at this time is to journey through
the Tales, chapter by chapter. If you
wish answers to your questions, you
can help me by connecting your
questions and other personal
investigations as you have
determined are necessary
regarding your daily efforts
with the material written by
Gurdjieff in the Tales.

Gurdjieff provided EVERYTHING
when he wrote the Tales.

This is the fourth way method
of writing by progression in action
and participants on these channels
have nothing to fear if something
is revealed about themselves.

> This unique barrier to catching
> the second wind of voluntary
> emotions, is it the same as
> Chief Feature?
> K.

You ask this question in the
same manner as N. in that you
expect an answer and that I am
somehow obligated. Real obligation
is only to what is higher than ourselves.
Questions to save being-efforts in doing
your own work of pondering are not
good questions. If one has beginning
Work data, then efforts of "active
penetration" should provide the
remaining data. Only then are
questions useful. If we do not
use these ideas as a practical
foundation from which to
penetrate an exact category
of data, then they will not be
useful for us and will continue
to be mental, ephemeral and
subjectively imaginary.

Where is the change of
mind and heart?

On entry into a method
by progression, the aspirant,
to protect himself or herself,
produces a facade of imaginary
personal symptoms designed to
misdirect attention from the real
problems of evolution. held in
place by the imaginary identity
of Imaginary "I", strictly for
its own survival.

These symptoms can express
themselves "involuntarily" in the
form of illness, accident, emotional
explosions, moods, stupidity, confusion,
inattention, disorientation, ineptitude, and
seemingly uncontrollable cravings and
satisfactions.

Imaginary symptoms, because they
are imaginary, prevent self-observation
of involuntary manifestations. Many
people have for years avoided even
simple observations through these
mechanical protective devices.
It is precisely these protective
mechanisms of  useless
mechanical suffering
which provide an
imaginary picture
of the problems of
voluntary evolution
and a resulting series
of wrong efforts.

In the same way that a
mother bird leads an intruder
from her nest, imaginary manifestations
lead us away from the real center of
gravity of Imaginary "I", its
reflexive repertoire of Chief
Feature invoking postures.
Activities forming collectively
the subjective identity which it
strives automatically to protect
will transform with real changes
of mind and heart in the course
of voluntary evolution.

> Is instinct more real
> than identity?
> L.

Most of what we call "instinctive"
is just organic-involuntary-reflex.
One's imaginary and vague sense of
personal presence, supported by
imaginary memory, involuntary
mood, conditioned mental,
emotional and organic reflexive
artificial postures, illusion of
continuous existence through
the use of the same name as
well as position, rank, and
"title" within an organization
be it government or private of
ordinary life, all of this the same
over a period of years, and so forth,
and all of it powered by Chief
Feature, forms that which
mechanical man calls his
"personal identity". It is
only this that can be
"profiled" by any and
all ordinary life systems.
Real "I" cannot be
profiled.
