What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Execute specifications with the BriefResultMessageFormatter attached

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: compact results once only.
Actual: sparse results followed by the expected compact results.

MessageBuilders now emit null instead of empty string when there is no
message to be
built.
