Cross Origin Resource Sharing(CORS) Issue

Hey guys,

I'm implementing a Single Page Application(SPA) that utilizes the InSTEDD's resourcemap REST api. It seems like the API doesn't allow such cross origin requests at the moment. I'd really like to know if there's a reason why this is and a work around to it. I've already thought about setting up a proxy server as a workaround. But I want to know if this can be fixed from the resourcemap API's response headers.
