I would like to buy the iPad app but version 1.4 of the server software can't find any QAM stations.  2.0 can find stations but the iPad app doesn't seem to work with it.  Is there something I am doing wrong? I am using the WinTV HVR-950 BDA Tuner.

Hello Ryan,

2.0 version has been released. Please try to see if it works.

If not, please send us a zip file of the log folder. You can find the log folder location by click 'Setup'->'Diagnose'->'Open'.
We will take a look at the log file and let you know the findings.

Thanks,

Thanks, the new version seems to work.  Any chance there will be 4g streaming support anytime soon?  It would also be nice to have audio only streaming at some point.  Audio only would be great for streaming sports when you want to conserve bandwidth.

Keep up the good work.

I'd second a setting toggle that would let one flip on 4g/LTE streaming.  Make it default to no so people can opt in to it.

Guys, unless I'm misunderstanding your feature request, I'm pretty sure streaming over cellular already works. Since you already have the server software installed, it should be a matter of forwarding the port number on your router (and probably signing up for a dynamic DNS service like dyndns or no-ip so you don't have to remember/keep up to date on your external IP). From the iOS app you would then add the dynamic DNS name and port in settings. I will say that this doesn't seem to work for HDHR Prime streaming, and I had to activate a VPN connection in order for that to work while I was away from the house.

It does not.  If you attempt it on cellular, you get a pop up box that says streaming is only available on wifi.

Sorry about that. Hadn't tried it with 2.0. Possible it was working in 1.4 (but maybe I'm crazy altogether)? Strange too because it's not like the lower stream settings couldn't be handled by even a modest 3G rate.

I'm on board with you guys. Cellular data switch, please. :-)

Just verified that using my VPN connection on cellular doesn't work either. Get same wifi message you mentioned. Didn't think it would, but wanted to report in case someone was thinking of setting one up in the hopes of a workaround.

Nope. Never worked

And the reason why you have to vpn to get the HDHomeRun to work is because you have to be on the same network as the tuner.  They are found by doing a network broadcast that you can't do unless you are on the same network as the tuner.

Hello all,

Streaming over 3g/4g requires further work in order to pass AppStore review. It will be enabled in a coming version soon.
