You can find a pretty good solution for this problem on
one of the User based websites. Please goto:

Under the "Whats Hot" section of this page, you'll see a topic called "Avoid
maintenance mode". Under this topic, you'll see two sub topics that would
resolve your issue...
1) Create Unique uninstall entries on the fly.
2) Use new GUID for update installer.
