I'm running InstallShield 5.53, which is supposed to be Maintanance
Pack 3, no?, and I'm still getting the problem. Help?
How can I modify _setup.dll as noted above? Do I need Microsoft C++
or some such? (Can I edit the file as a binary with Emacs? *evil
chuckle*)

Is this with version 5.5 of InstallShield? If it is, you just need to apply
service pack 3 and rebuild your media.

As I wrote, I am using InstallShield 5.53, which I think is supposed
to be InstallShield 5.5 with maintenance pack 3, and I see the problem
there.
A translator from my company passed me a _Setup.dll that appears to
fix the problem. I also see on our internal site that there is a
maintenance pack for IS Pro 5.53.
