Dear Anyone that can help,

I am trying to write a Installation in an English version of IS6.2. Although
this install works fine on an English PC's, I am having trouble installing
on a Spanish PC.

I can't seem to find any information about how I am to distribute IS Objects
in different languages, when the install is build in an English version.

Can anyone please help me.

In first just for information you can update your IS6.2 version to IS6.22
for resolving somes bugs!
So what kinds of problem have you for your spanish installation?
You can see the language that your object support on the toolbar
"Tools-Object Manager"!
So you can edit the property of your object and see in the thumb language
specific the language of your IDE.
I hope that this information help you if you don't know already this!

Carlos,
Thank you for your advice. But my problem is more specific. I need to apply
MDAC v2.1 to an installation. If I add the object from an English version of
IS6.2 then when it installs on a Spanish PC, the installation complians that
the target language (i.e. Spanish) is not supported.

This doesn't happen with MFC 6.2 Runtime or Visual Basic 6 Runtime objects
which I'm assuming are International Objects, (Can you confirm or deny
this?)

I would appreciate any help you can give.
Kindest Regards
ed

I can say to you that i use IS6.12 and i apply MDAC v2.1 and now MDAC v2.5
in my installation.
My application don't make me trouble in any languages that i have
implemented!
I have the english, spanish, french, german and 6 others languages and i
haven't your trouble
I suppose that you have the good pack language "the west"

One more thing:
You can read too in the thumb component of IS6 on the MDAC object
"Overview" this phrase
Currently, the object supports English, German, and Japanese.
The object will install the English version of MDAC on operating systems
with languages other than these three.
For the MFC 6.2 Runtime, this object support 10 languages with spanish.

So excuse me but i don't know how to resolve your trouble! But i don't know
why you have a problem for the installation,
perhaps you use something in your application that make this problem!

Work hard!

Carlos,
I only have Bilingual Language Pack. However I was not under the impression
that Language packs included different versions of the Installshield
Objects.

In your Installation can you install a different language of MDAC to the one
your IS6.2 is in?

Yes i made some search and i can confirm to you that MDAC support only 3
languages english, german and japanese!
Language packs don't includ different versions of the Installshield Objects
I use the IS objects MDAC v2.5, odbc v3.51 and access97. My installation is
running well in spain but i think that i haven't your trouble because i
don't use the messages of MDAC!

regards
