Repackaging up our old Installshield (5? 5.5?) setup as MSI as quick short-term solution?

Our application installation, which uses an older version of Installshield
(v5? v5.5?) is being updated - we've just purchased ISWI 2.03. I'm not
familiar with the existing setup in great technical detail, but having used
the Visual Studio Installer I am familiar with the Windows installer service
and the building of setup applications generally.

We (me probably) will rewrite the application setup properly using ISWI2.03
later this year; however, looking through the manual I see that ISWI
provides NetInstall SPY and the ability to open older InstallShield
projects.

We have an issue with the existing installation in that it does not work on
Japanese windows systems (it crashes apparantly). I'm wondering if the two
methods above provided by ISWI for migration older projects would be good
enough to port our existing InstallShield project to the Windows Installer
framework *AND* provide Japanese support?

I don't want to go through too much pain, and will probably start again from
scratch when I do come to actually rewriting the install; but for now, can I
trust the migration methods to port the existing setup to something useable?

Thanks.

Alastair
