problem about add printer in W9X

Hi,

My product need to install a printer driver to target machine. That driver
can create a tif file via print function. I want use InstallShield 6.22 to
install that printer driver on target machine. Can anyone tell me how to
install printer driver ?

Fai, to you I say good luck.

I just went through a series of printer driver installations. It seems
installshield does not take into consideration adding printers, you have to
wrap the API calls you want to use in a DLL, and make function calls to that
DLL from InstallScript. It is no easy task.

On Win2k/XP you can use the folloeing command line:

rundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /?

This will give you a listing of all commands that can be used to add a
printer from a command line (ONLY on Win2K and XP)

I would suggest searching on msdn.microsoft.com for AddPrinter.

Can you tell me more about how to use API ? I search msdn before, and find
some API function to use in add printer. but InstallShield is quite
difficult to call the functions. Can you give me more tips ?
