MDAC 2.6 SP1 MSM?

Microsoft have released MDAC 2.6 SP1 which we want to ship with an
application install.

However, the MDAC 2.6 MSM released with ISWI 2.03 is for the first release
version of MDAC 2.6.

Does anybody know if the version of MDAC_TYP in the MSM distributed by
InstallShield can be updated to the newer one, or if Installshield plan to
update their MSM?

It is my understanding that MS is unlikely to release a merge module
for MDAC 2.6 SP1.

I thought about updating ISWI's merge module, but decided against it
in favor of the technique outlined at
http://www.installsite.org/files/iswi/mdac_dcom.htm.
The only thing that I did differently is to set the MDAC Custom
Action's condition to MDACREGVERSION < "2.61"

It works fine -- no problems at all.

Oops, I actually set the MDAC Custom Action to:

Condition = NOT Installed AND MDACREGVERSION < "2.61"

I've used custom actions in the past for MDAC, but wanted to make use of the
MSM this time around.

Rumour has it that MDAC 2.7 will be available with an MSM by the autumn.
