My compiler builds a file (.dll). I would like Install Shield to run
an exe before it builds, and then use an output file from that exe.
Basically, my problem is as follows. I have a .dll made from Visual
Studio. I have another program that creates a .ini file (from the
version of the .dll) and then combines the .ini/.dll together,
creating a .cab file. Then the cab file is used by a configuration
ASPX web page. Up to now I've been manually creating the cab (with the
program) and was just seeing if I can automate it with the Install
Shield Build.
Thanks, and sorry if its a very basic question I can't seem to find
any event which corrosponds to something like
"OnBeforeInstallShieldBuild", they all seem to be for after the
clients start to install.
NB
PS: I know how to do this during client installation, but this would
require distrubuting the cabarc.exe (Cab Archiver by Microsoft) with
my Disk Media, which I'm not entirly sure the licening allows me to do.
Microsoft's cab files aren't the same as InstallShield 6's. You would
need an MS cab tools rather that just InstallShield 6.
