InstallShield 5.5 users,
I too, have a 7 language install, that does not properly uninstall if
user used Chinese to install the software.
The OS language of the NT4.0 PC can be English or Chinese, both have the
same problem.
Load a 5.5 Installshield product using Chinese (PCR) language, that
has sub directories installed. When you run the uninstall, all files and
directories are left. If you run the same install and install using
English( or any other language), the uninstall removes all files.

Hello,
Has anyone experienced a problem with installshield 5.5 and Chinese PRC.

I have an application localized into twelve lanuages. All install and
uninstall fine except language 0804 (Chinese PRC). The uninstaller for
this
language fails to remove any of the installed files.

Any ideas?
Thanks Charlie

Charlie,

It appears, if you download the Installshield 5.53 patch, it corrects this
problem.
When I installed my version of InstallShield, it was already at 5.53 and the

Language files I loaded next must not have been.
I can not find any reference to it in any readme file. Nor can I find any

reference to it in any the Knowledge Base or any of the news groups.
