When I launch a setup made with InstallShield 5.53 under Windows 2000
Professional with a user profile who has not the administrator rights, I
have this error message which pops us: "Error 432: Setup has detected that
unInstallShield is in use. Please close unInstallShield and restart setup. "
and the setup stops. I do not have launch any other program before launching
the setup. I do not wish to install my program under a simple user profile,
I just want that the setup works enough time to display a warning message
saying to launch the setup under a profile with administrator rights and to
abort (It works perfectly under Windows NT4 !).
It seems that InstallShield 5.53 engine does not work well under Windows
2000 Pro simple user profile.
I have constated same behaviors with other InstallShield 5.53 setups (other
than mine). If you have a solution to this problem (other than upgrade to
InstallShield Pro 6 or ISWI) it would be great !
Thanks,
Alexis

You need to remove the uninstaller from the setup process, then you can add
the uninstaller to a file group and install it yourself, to a location you
can write to.
