I need to have install shield install quicktime and direct X to the
target user system.

It looks like this is not part of the 15 minute installer that
InstallShield says you can build :(

I have set up QuickTime and Direct X as separate components, but beyond
that I don't know what to do.

If I go to the Components window, there is a "Destination" option. If I
click on that there is a choice called "scripped defined..." Is that
what I use? OR do I specify no destination at all?

How do I get install shield to not copy the file that is associated with
the quicktime component, and instead, call the launch and wait routine?
Do i need to not associate any file at all with the quicktime
component?

thanks!
