Making SMALLER Setups...

Hello !

I got my installshield with MS Visual C++ 6.0. I made a
Visual-C++-project with MFC. The release-exe resulting from this project
is about 200 KB. When making a setup, I got files with sizes between 800
KB and 2000 KB.

When I zip these files, it's again about 200 KB - is installshield NOT
compressing files ?? I dont want the use Zip, because the user has to
start first WinZip and then the setup.

Question:
Whats the best way to make the setup small ?

- Linking MFC dynamic/static ?
- Other Visual C++-options ?
- Which type of setup should I take to get the smallest setup ?

Regards

Martin

P.S.: Please mail your answer, too. Thanks

Martin had posted the same question to several groups.
Since most of us read all of these groups, that's unecessary.

If you use the free WinZip self-extractor add-on (from
http://www.winzip.com/downauto.cgi?wzipse21.exe )
And therein the "Self Extractor for Software Installation" -option, you can
very easily add the command line "setup.exe" to execute after unpacking.
