Hi,

How can I utilize a Serial Number option in the User's Information
screen?
When a user enters the serial number, where does InstallShield comparing
this number to?

Thanks,

InstallShield doesn't compare it to anything, it will store it in the
registry under your product key.

Hi Stefan,

How can ISX screen the serial number for proper entry before allow the
installation to proceed? E.g. each install CD/Disk set has a unique serial
number, if the number is not entered correctly ISX will not proceed
installing the software. Or are you saying, the serial number is entered and
stored during the installion, when the user runs the application, the
application must be coded to check for this stored serial number for proper
match? E.g. the installer for Windows 95, 98, etc, will not proceed if a user
enters incorrect serial (or product) number.

BTW, I like the option in the ISX 2.02 allowing the installion of fonts and
registery.

Thanks for helping,

The best in this case is to use a DLL that pops up a dialog to request the
serial number.

I'm glad you do.
