How to do patch installations

Hi,

I am a developer and I am currently using InstallShield for packaging.
I have a small question. I know that we can do patch installs. But my
question is, I need to a standalone kind of patch install i,e. I should
be able to install the patch on top of the existing package / product.
At the same time, I should also be able to uninstall the patch
separately. Is this possible? By uninstalling just the patch, I need to
rollback to the state that was previously present before installing the
patch.

If so, how do we achieve this.

Any solution, is greatly encouraged.
