Although the msxml3 merge module is included in my project, the associated
dlls are not transfer to the system folder on Win2000 machines. I can,
however, run MS's msxml3sp1.exe and install the files. Is there a bug in
ISDev7?

Funny you should mention that. A client of mine reported the same thing and
I could not reproduce. I end up wipping the media folder and rebuilding it
and now he reports that all works well...

It makes me wonder if the MSI or the cab files got corrupted somehow...

Obviously this is a common problem, because it doesn't work either in my
project.
But when you look in the built msi package, you'll see that msxml module is
not linked with any feature in the Featurecomponents-table.
Maybe you could do this manually after each build, or try to recreate the
mergemodule yourself and hope it works...

I recently migrated my 2.03 project to Dev 7.01 and had the same problem.
It turns out the I didn't have the very latest version of the MSXML3 MM.
After downloading it, the associated files were getting installed. I
downloaded the latest MM from http://www.installsite.org/.
Hope this works for you...

Thanks for the suggestion. I deleted/rebuilt the folder but the problem
persists.

Thanks for the suggestion. The version that IS displays for the MM and the
one on Installsite web are identical. I can't imagine it helping (and if it
does that's disturbing in itself). I'll try it anyway. Thanks again.

Are you sure it is being installed? I also thought it did after a while, but
once it is installed, it is not uninstalled when you remove your
application. Maybe the files were still present from a previous
installation.

It finally worked here when I added the merge module to another feature. I
have feature1 hidden (and install level=1)and feature2 as a subfeature from
feature1. When I added msxml3 to feature1, it was not installed. When I
also added it to feature2, it was installed.

Does somebody from InstallShield have an explanation for this?
