I am a new user, please be gentle! I can't work out what is wrong here. It seems to be throwing up because it can't find an installer disc, however there is a .dmg called 'MacOS X Client 10.6 10A432.DMG' in the correct folder, /InstallerDiscs

Here is he output-

sudo ./instadmg/AddOns/InstaUp2Date/instaUp2Date.py 10.6_vanilla --process

Is your dmg is actually 10A432.

Mount it, navigate to /Volumes/Mac OS X Install DVD/System/Library/CoreServices/ and look inside SystemVersion.plist

Thanks for the swift reply Chris. Yes I have confirmed it is an original 10.6 with version 10A432 via your method.

Also be sure to unmount other volumes before you start the tool. It tends to be pretty sensitive if it finds anything else mounted.

And lastly delete your cache and reboot.

ah, that was the problem. Ran successfully when I unmounted a whole bunch of other stuff. Sort of. Now it barfs because I want it to update my 10.6 install when I'm running 10.8

At least that is an error I don't need to ask about!

Thanks again

Adam
