Is There Any Installation Guide For Windows 10?

Hi,

we have removed the step-by-step instructions from the website in favour of the installer.

But you can still find them in our users guide here:

Though it would be good to know which problems you had with the installer. Maybe we can fix it.

Thank you for your reply Mr. Kröger.

Actually, i setup last night, insightCAE, but when i click to "workbench" in program list, software simply does not work.

Because of this, i want to find a manual to setup correctly with minimal try/try again efforts.

I found this software totally with chance. I just searching a freeware OpenFOAM gui.

I hope i can solve this simply setup problem and i can start to use OpenFOAM with a gui.

Did you start the X-Server prior to launch the workbenches?

This needs to be done by executing "X-Launch".

If not started, the workbench cannot display anything.

Ok i tried before..

But again i will write step by step.. (in Xlaunch)

1. [Select display settings] ---> Multiple windows  ---> display number -1

Press Next

2.  [Select how to start clients] ---> start no client

Press Next

3.  [Extra settings] ---> Clipboard  [Tick] - Primary Selection [Tick] and Native opengl [Tick]

Press Next

4.  [Configuration Complete]

Press Finish

Finally can not opening anything about Xlauncher..

Last night i has been happen..

I think i have to setup again..

Hi Melih,

please try the following:

1. launch X-server, if not already done

2. launch "Shell" instead of workbench from the start menu

3. in the shell window, type "workbench" and report the error message

Hi Melih,

1) it indeed looks like there went something wrong in the very beginning of the installation and the WSL distribution was not properly installed. Before you retry, you should remove any leftover distributions (see e.g. https://petri.com/how-to-uninstall-and-reset-windows-subsystem-for-linux-distributions)

BTW: did you use WSL before you did the installation already?

2) the X-Server can't connect to the network. Did a firewall request come up in the course of the installation, where you could choose between deny and allow? Maybe you selected "deny"?

1. I will do it.

In first intallation, i guess i setup WSL since my computer required the reboot.

Before setup process of insightCAE i did not use WSL (at least consciously). But the important information can be ,may be, i already setup OpenFOAM.

2. Windows security (and windows firewall closed already) deactive. But yesterday i setup "TotalAV" antiviral software. Now i can check it. And after check this situation and i will correctly uninstall all the things.

and then i write again..
