Issues with Meshing

Hi,

I have been trying to run a electronic cooling simulation, I set all the general conditions in the CaseBuilder and when i tried to generate mesh using the 'begin with mesh step'.

I am continuously getting the following error as shown in the screenshot. I have also added the simulation file.

Dear Raghav,

it looks like the OpenFOAM thinks the "t0004_heatsink_for_analysis.stl" is an ASCII format STL file but it is a binary one instead (I can't check; you did not attach the actual file)

Please note that the OpenFOAM internal convention is that ASCII STLs are named "*.stl" and the binary ones "*.stlb". Usually, the reader detects a binary STL with a ASCII STL extension but not always.

I would first attempt to rename to "t0004_heatsink_for_analysis.stlb" and then retry.

Looks like the file is a binary STL. But the file starts with the word "solid", which might be part of the label here but it is probably  indicating a ASCII STL for the OpenFOAM reader (ASCII STL's start with the keyword "solid").

You might also try to convert the file into an ASCII STL with some other tool.

I have tried that and I still am getting an error(attached screenshot). I have also attached the *.stlb file (after renaming) below...

I am actually trying to run an electronic cooling simulation, there are MOSPHETS with PCB  attached to the heatsink in the *.stlb file, is this the right approach to run such a simulation (involving forced convection)? It would be really helpful and considerate if you would tell the right way to use insightCAE for electronic simulations.
