kgdb patches on linux 3.x

Please let me know whether kernel patches for KDB and KGDB are required on Linux 3.x ?

If required, please let me know what's the official path ?

You should be able to enable them through menuconfig.

I tried with the Beaglebone after menuconfig changes. It worked and also I was able to debug using KGDB
