Assalaamu 'Alaykum
Dear brother Abu Sayed,
Although I don't know you but I do love you for the sake of Allaah subhaanahu wa ta'ala because you are a Muslim brother of mine.
For clarifying my position, by Allaah! I don't have personal connection with any elder of Kakrail and I'm not supporting or opposing anyone. I want to just state what is Haqq according to my limited understanding.
Brother, you are trying to prove that an elder of Kakrail, Wasif saheb has been writing columns/opinions on newspapers and your language implies that it is something despicable or heinous crime. I want to shed some light on this matter. Please read following points and let me understand your stance on this issue:
1. In another mail you've questioned Wasif saheb that (rough translation of your Bengali statement)- writing about politics is included in which principle of Tableegh?
Now I want to ask you- do you deem it Haraam to express opinions about current politics? What kind of proofs do you have to back up this notion? There are thousands of Haqqani 'Ulama (Qawmi/Deobandi Maulana and Mufti) involved in politics actively. Do you think they aren't educated enough or they don't understand Islam? I've failed to grasp how it is wrong. Please do me a favour by clarifying.
2. What is "Tableegh's Usool"? Is this something different from Islam? If someone doesn't follow some Usools of Tableegh, does it take him away from Islam? (I'm not talking about Fardh, Wajib and Sunnah)
3. I think you know that it's incumbent upon us to show respect for elderly persons. Why are you using such disrespectful words (boss, Wasif etc) to indicate an old person?
I'm again saying that I don't have personal connection with any elder of Kakrail and I'm not supporting or opposing anyone.
I hope you won't misunderstand me.
- Zahid
