Screenrecis a powerful alternative to Snagit for Windows (Lastest Windows 10, 8, 7 are supported), Linux and Mac. It is both screenshot capture tool and screen recording software. Powered by StreamingVideoProvider, Screenrec uses a sophisticated algorithm to upload your recording to the cloud in real time. So, as soon as you finish recording, you instantly get a shareable link.
The interface is mind-blowingly simple. Capturing screencasts or screenshots is as easy as opening the app, selecting your capture area, and pressing a button. It comes with a very simple but yet powerful screenshot annotation tool and lets you add comments, draw rectangles and arrows or add text.
TuneFab Screen Recorder is also a great Snagit alternative that is perfectly compatible with Windows and Mac systems. It provides 4 different modes to capture any screen activity easily, including the video recorder, audio recorder, webcam recorder, and screen capture function. You can flexibly record any type of content revealed on the desktop screens. It supports common video/audio formats such as MP4, MOV, AVI, GIF, MP3, M4A, AAC, and more.
Besides the basic screen recording functions, some advanced functions are offered. For example, its real-time editing panel makes it convenient to draw and add notes while recording. Before saving a recording, you can also trim or cut some unnecessary parts or adjust the sound volume to create a satisfying screen recording.
When the recording task is completed, you will also have a shortcut to upload and share the recorded content to popular social media platforms. And the greatest part is that the video recording doesn't even come with a watermark!
Jing is an interesting alternative to Snagit in that they were both created and released by TechSmith. With both a free and premium version, Jing allowed you to record audio and video then upload directly to the internet automatically creating a shareable link.
There are dozens of editing features including a color picker, image splitter, image combiner, and of course your basics like annotation and blur effects. You can even upload your screen grabs to over one dozen sites. There are just so many features and so many options, does anyone else have decision fatigue?
While in gameplay, you can simply press F12 on Windows or Option+fn+F12 on Mac to capture an in-game screenshot. After the screenshot is automatically saved to the Steam cloud, you can edit it with basic annotation features and upload it to Steam or share it on Facebook.
Snagit is a screen capture tool that can record your desktop and grab screenshots. Camtasia can record your screen but can't capture screenshots. Camtasia is designed for more professional video editing and it has many more options compared to SnagIt. In short, SnagIt is like an easier, more basic version of Camtasia that can capture screenshots.
The Snagit individual subscription license is $39.00 billed annually. The Snagit perpetual license is $62.99 billed once and includes one year of Maintenance. The Snagit perpetual license is eligible for volume discounts starting at five licenses or more.
Sharing your screen recordings with Snagit is both simple and versatile. In a single click, a link is automatically copied to your keyboard and ready to share with anyone. You can also directly upload your screen captures and recordings to popular apps like YouTube, Google Drive, Dropbox, and more.
I can't believe this is still not a feature in Concur for such a long time. This is a clearly a requirement for a lot of auditors. Manually taking screenshots is not a solution a modern software like Concur should give users.
3. Printing off the route when the route can be viewed by anyone reviewing the expense report is extra work for the end user and the auditor. Digital copies of receipts are perfectly acceptable for reimbursement purposes, so a digital copy of the mileage route should also be acceptable. We are trying to promote less work for all involved in the process.
4. Requirements for anything printed is the sole decision of that company/auditor and goes against the idea of an automated, paperless process. The onus of how to provide a hard copy, should then lie with that company since they are choosing something that goes against the main design of SAP Concur.
My reply to the original poster was a workaround since the option is not available. I'm not in product development and do not get to decide what features are implemented, so I can only provide a solution based on what features are available in the tool.
I'm on this Community to try and provide help where I can and provide explanations as to why something is or is not available. If you look at point #5 in my post, that is likely why the option isn't available. I have worked directly with a lot of our customers (probably around 1000 or so) and this thread is the first time I've ever heard someone say they needed the ability to print the map. There just aren't many customers requesting this feature.
Informal poll - What's your favorite screen capture and recording tool for creating How To videos?
I'm working through a blog series on generating content for Stream, and one of the obvious quesitons is which tools do folks like to use to generate, create and capture either screen recordings or presentations for sharing ideas in their company.
My pesonal favorite tool has been TechSmith's SnagIt for years. Can't do my job without it. Camtasia is clearly at the top of the list as well, due to its amazing editing, zooming, and commenting tools.
Powerpoint, since I don't need anything fancy. Start a screen capture, it automatically embeds it in powerpoint, then just right click on embed and save video. Granted, there are no advanced features, nothing fancy, and very little control. But, it works and it's already a part of powerpoint, which many people in an organization will have with O365
Screen recorder for computer is simple to use. I can use it to record streaming gameplay, online music, and Skype calls and more I want. It's also workable to create scheduled task, highlight clicks, customize configuration, grab system audio and/or microphone sound, etc. in my own way.

The screen capture tools that I often use are Joyoshare Screen Recorder and TechSmith Snagit. I think they both are the professional and powerful screen capture software on Windows. As a teacher, I recently recorded my PowerPoint presentation with Joyoshare Screen Recorder, because I want to add my sound into my PPT. It just supports to record video and audio at the same time with high quality. If you would like to explain while recording, you need to turn on Microsoft sound. Importantly, this tool allows you to adjust parameters like resolution and frame rate and to output video into any formats according to your need. It offers the trial version, you can try it. Hope you like it after trying.
I agree it's a great tool but does anyone know if screencast o matic is compatible with microsoft stream? I can't seem to import screencast o matic videos into microsoft stream. Any suggestions? Thanks!
@MattyD - Did you figure this out? I thought I'd read that Screencast-o-matic just generated a standard .mp4 file. If this is still an issue, can you share your repro steps and any error messages you received?
@anonymous-user Camtasia seems great due to its editing feature. But it's too pricey for me. Since I'm not skilled at video editing, my friend suggest me another easier screen recorder with editor built-in whose name is RecMaster. The best part is I think its price is reasonable, at least for me/
Check out the Snipping tool in the accessories directory in Windows. It crops, highlights and even uses your email client so you can sent screenshots. Unless you are doing some major editing this should be all you need.
If you are willing to spend money, Snagit is the way to go. Otherwise free software, I like Windows Snipping, Jing, and Problem Step Recorder is the way to go. With PSR it does some highlighting as well for some screenshots.
Picpick is a nice screencapture software. It can capture directly into a built in image editor, where you can add comments or drawings to the picture, as well as to many other output types. It comes in a free version as well as a paid version.

Better than Snagit, this best free screen recorder allows you to choose the recording type on the first screen. This way, you are only presented with the options relevant to your task and configure and use them in your screen recording. This one is undoubtedly the best Snagit alternative that you can find on the market.
It is a completely free and open-source program that allows you to capture your screen like you do with Snagit. The tool comes with a mixer if you are looking to mix the content you produce with the program.
