The most obvious difference between a superkart and most other forms of kart is that they have full aerodynamic bodykits as well as having a longer wheel base than sprint chassis and are generally raced on car circuits over 1,500 metres in length. The power unit, most often, but not exclusively two-stroke 250 cc engines, can be specially designed kart engines or production motorcycle engines with either five- or six-speed sequential manual gearboxes. Owing to their high top speed and superb cornering ability, a superkart's aerodynamic bodywork includes a front fairing, larger sidepods, and a rear wing. They use either 130-or-150-millimetre-diameter (5 or 6 in) tires and wheels and most often race on full size auto-racing circuits.
Superkarts race on "long circuits"[3] (e.g. Silverstone, Laguna Seca, Magny-Cours). In the UK they also race on "short circuits"[4] (e.g. Kimbolton); "short circuits" are under 1,500 metres in length.[5]
Superkarts are raced worldwide. There is a multi-event CIK-FIA European Superkart Championship (for 250 cc karts only),[6] and there has in the past been a world championship, which was last run in 1995.[7]
Powered by a two-stroke 250 cc engine producing 75 kW (100 hp) for an overall weight including the driver of 205 kilograms (452 lb), superkarts have a power/weight ratio (including the driver) of approximately 365 W/kg (490 hp/tonne)(0.22 hp/lb), or closer to 730 W/kg (980 hp/tonne)(0.44 hp/lb) without the driver, which is about the equivalent of a midget car, or an open-wheel A1 Grand Prix car. Superkarts can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (60 mph) in less than 3 seconds with a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).[8] Their low weight and good downforce make for excellent cornering[9] and braking abilities.[10] A superkart is capable of braking from 160 km/h (100 mph) to standstill in around 2 seconds, and taking corners at nearly 3 g (30 m/s).[11]
A global category, superkarts are endorsed by the FIA, and were featured as a support category to the French Formula 1 Grand Prix at Magny-Cours in 2007 where they bettered Porsche Supercup lap times.[1]
All current Super members will need to re-qualify in order to drive the new Super karts on the new track layout. This is a safety precaution for all of our drivers. If you are a current Super Member, please show a track member your qualifying race times on the new track.

Went with a group of friends and we had a blast. The go-karts are really fast and much better in comparison with all the others I've tried in Vegas. The people there were friendly and very efficient keeping the track going and the wait time between races short. I'm coming back and bringing more friends next time!
The singles are derived from a class called ICE (Intercontinteal E) which was intended to be a more economical way of going superkart racing with single cylinder, more commonly found motors like the CR250, RM250 from motocross. Kinda like a Rotax max vs a formula A
Which is faster between it and unlimited laydown varies a lot. Outright speed, the answer is both. Riley will worked with some guys (I think it was Willheim) to make a laydown superkart. It was insanely fast.
These are the most powerful engines in karting word, CIK-FIA homologated, provided with six-speed gearbox, rotary valve and dry clutch.
They develop a power of 98 hp at 14,000 rpm and are designed to compete on autodromes, where they reach even above 270 km/h.

Now the usual rules of power vs lap time would suggest such a kart would be as quick as the F3 car BUT would that really be true? Is it possible to scale up a kart's power while keeping it the same size and gain so much lap speed?
You mention being slower than a F3 at Snetterton, but I suspect this relates to a kart - with a driver sitting upright in the wind - having the aerodynamics of a brick. On a long fast straight, they will run out of steam long before a streamlined formula car. Also they have almost no downforce which matters in fast corners, whereas the small size of a kart allows a much faster line through slow corners. So somewhere like Brands, the kart has more advantages but on more open tracks, it is disadvantaged more.
I would think it's more down to available grip in the cornenrs and not speed off the corner/straight line speed. Put some proper aero on the kart and tyre 20% wider and I think you would probably get your 5 seconds.
A son once upon a time ran a twin engine kart (2 times 100cc) very competively. The twins were fractionally quicker than the the 100cc singles but not by as much as you might ecpect. I drove it several times under practice conditions and truly did not like it compared to a 100cc single with a top class engine.
I also drove F3 once upon a time so can compare in relative terms, There is nothing in driving a twin kart that is transferable to any formula class and I personally do not recommend trying to get any real racing experience with a twin. If you want to progress a motor racing career go directly from gearless kart singles to any formula class from F Ford or upwards as one can afford. Anything else is a waste of time and money resources.
Long, long ago Road and Track magazine held a competition to see what vehicle was quickest around a skidpan test circle. Despite various racecars turning up it was won by the "Gkart". This was basically a standard kart with sheet of plywood fixed under it plus skirts and a fan evacuating the sealed underbody area. It was similar in concept to the Chapparal 2J "sucker car" and was IIRC brought along by some of the GM engineers who worked on the 2J. With its downforce independent of speed it was well suited to low speed circle work and won comfortably.
It is not wise to drive your kart through the water because of the Oxboard that is mounted under the kart. The Oxboard is splash-proof, but it is not recommended to use it in the rain or to drive through puddles.
Super Kart Simulator brings Mario Kart to Roblox. You train your speed then head out onto the track to race your friends, earning rewards if you beat them. Along the way, you can collect entirely new karts and pets, which help you distinguish yourself from other racers.

Go-karting is one of the most accessible forms of motorsport on earth. The simple machines give people on a modest budget access to the same wheel-to-wheel racing as the pros, at a fraction of the cost (and speed).
The channel wanted to find out what driving some of the fastest karts on earth was like, so they rented the Rockingham Speedway for the day, and hired a Division 1 Superkart team to help them find out.
Although the kart has a relatively modest 100 hp (74.5 kW/101 PS), it weighs just 145 kg (320 lbs) without the driver. That amounts to a power to weight ratio of about 690 hp (515 kW/700 PS) per metric ton, or more than a McLaren Senna can offer, or any GT3 car on the racetrack today.
