Toget access to your Comtrend AR-5310u, you need the IP of your device, the username and password. You'll find such information in the Manual of your Comtrend AR-5310u router. But if you do not have the manual for your router or you do not want to read the whole manual to find the default login information then you can use the quick guide below. To get to the router login page it's necessary that you are connected to the router.
Open your web browser (e.g. Chrome, Firefox, Opera or any other browser) Click HERE to auto detect your router IP. After some seconds our tool will show a link to your router login page. Click on the shown link. You should see 2 text fields where you can enter a username and a password. Check the bottom of your router. There you will find your login credentials. If not then have a look at the manual of your router. Enter the username & password, hit "Enter" and now you should see the control panel of your router.
Try different ID/password combinations that are widely used by Comtrend that you'll find below. In this list are the most popular default username and password combinations used by Comtrend. Sometimes the username and password doesn't work that we mentioned in the top of this guide. Then you can try these username/password combinations below to get access to your Comtrend AR-5310u wireless router.

Nothing of the methods worked for me and I still not get access to my Comtrend ! All you need to do is to reset your modem. This can be done easily by clicking on the reset button at the back or at the bottom of your router. If you hold down this small button for approximately 20 seconds, (you may have to use a toothpick), then your modem will get restored to the factory settings. What you need to keep in mind is that when you reset your modem, you will lose your connection online. It is therefore better to take an expert's assistance in this regard. Note: If you have not enough information, it is obviously recommended that you should get help from a person who has all the knowledge about this topic.
Trust me, I don't deserve a well done. Thank you to everyone else. I was at the point of throwing this modem out the window. My biggest mistake was thinking what jhend was telling me to do was just an alternative of what st. Michael was telling me to do. I didn't know they both needed to be done. I was going back and fourth for hours. And to top it all off getting the modem stuck in a mode that was not accessible by even windows anymore.
Well em7565 seems stable on rooter and I'm now running it instead of the mc7455. One issue though and it's the whole reason I bought the em7565. I'm not getting 3xCA. I'm still stuck with 2xCA on band 41 with sprint. My note 8 gets all 3 bands of 41 in the same area. The em7565 only gets 2.
This matches all other reports I've seen, and my own experience with the EM7565. The bands do not matter. The modem will only ever report 2xCA. My guess is that it is a firmware issue. Most likely one that will get fixed, because this is of course one of the more important features of the EM7565.
The former, the way it works is this:
- modem reports it's capabilities to the network during the attach procedure, including an extensive list of all band/band width combinations it will accept
- the network allocates additional cells to aggregate depending on need
So, either the modem did not report it supports the specific combination for the 3 cells available for aggregation in your area or you are not getting past the traffic threshold that will trigger addition of an extra secondary cell by the network
Unfortunately, the specs I could find does not spell out the supported CA combinations for the downlink, so the only way to know for sure would be to see log the messages exchanged with the network, but I'm not sure the modem will provide that kind of access

Then you can set about following DM's instructino to make it into a ROOter build system, but I am not 100% sure these instructions are up to date (especially the openVPN part) and if it does not work you may have to wait for DM's input to get it running.
Farther down that file is a section with a number of these driver hacks for other modems and you would add the qcserial stuff there. Then it is available for all routers rather than just for the 4meg ones.
Secondly, MBIM, QMI and NCM modems now have their APN written to the modem before a connect attempt is made. We did that already for EM/MC74xx modems in MBIM mode. And if the APN needs writing or updating, the modem is forced to try re-registration. This should speed up the connect process on LTE networks.
Jhend, with your 4 files and my 4.9 kernel rooter build all signal stuff works great but still limited speeds it seems. How do you lock bands on this ec25. The literature is confusing. I need to be able to lock band 1
I expect the modem will have tried if "IPV4V6" shows up in the AT+CGDCONT? result. Only one of the three providers I have SIMs for offers IPV4V6. But I don't have kernel 4.9 to try QMI on the EC25.
35Mbps must have been with sun in the neck and downhills, it is one of the highest values I've ever heard claimed.
The bottlenecks are the cpu speed and USB bus efficiency of both the modem and the host. The modem also runs the ppp server while the host runs the ppp client software.
This seems to mean that perhaps the 7455 might have a firmware bug. Not sure how to get Sierra to address it. I know the last firmware we saw there was some type of Sprint fix (that may not have actually been part of the generic firmware), but it seems it is still present. If the 7565 ends up not disconnecting, perhaps we can open a ticket and just state that fact to them.
I've been making a lot of firmwares lately and I would like to customize my build a little. I always have to configure everything over and over after I build. I would like to edit the rooter scripts before it builds so that I have my own custom ssid, ip address and router name and also so it auto uses bootstrap instead. Where can i find and change these in the rooter build scripts?

This is a little more work. Add a file called header_msg to /package/rooter/ext-rooter-basic/files/etc that contains the text you wish. I do it slightly differently using my build scripts but the end result is a file called header_msg in /etc with text in it.
Those that remember DOS of old may have used File Commander to manage files on their PC. This is the same and can be handy for those that have trouble with SCP. Just make sure to read the help from within the editor to find out how it works (numbers at the bottom refer to the function keys at the top of the terminal window). And you can set file permission from there as well...
What would you recommend to someone who wants to learn and understand more about coding and linux? I'm intrigued but I just don't understand it and really want to learn. I can move stuff around and do what you say but that's no fun. I never had a single class on it. I'm 40 now and wish I had.
I was 30 when I first touched a keyboard. I was told then that there's no future in programming because machines were fast becoming smart enough to fully dispense with the profession. I was interested enough to ignore that advice. That was 40 years ago.
Where does someone start these days? I guess either a course, or coding something very simple like a unit converter of some sort. Degrees Fahrenheit to Kelvin might be a task of the right complexity to start with, and build up from there.
Is this really all it takes? I was under the impression that more work was needed than just copying ROOter packages to the right place so you could include them ub your build, in order to get the ROOter build compiled with all the right settings (like default hotspot on, name etec...)?

it is unlikely you will find anything local like evening classes as it starts at early age at school these days. check it out with a young relative and you will get an idea of what and how.
programming is not just a new language it is a new grammar and often a different logic. you need a couple of things before hand
1. a basic background in the technology i.e. how do chips/logic gates etc work, how do they assemble into things that do things (input/output) and a brief look at 'machine code'
2 a real interest in using it for something, a purpose. real coding is fine detailed and hours of work and learning
with those two you will have the concepts and may be able to start with something like frankie's putting 'hello world' on a screen. in my case it was a bee buzzing in random paths across the screen. start simple and don't skip the boring background stuff or you end up with a hole in your understanding later
what you are already doing shows a fair bit if talent and intuitive understanding so go back to the very basics first and you will get the necessary building blocks. they are absolutely essential. a schoolkids level. it creates the structures in your brain in the right way
if DM had written ROOter himself it would have taken literally 1000s of hours. his skill is based on the structures not the specifics but he has to learn the basics of concept and terminology in each new area and work out how to fit it in and how to do that without breaking something else.
My son (17) decided to take programming classes in school and asked for my support. I gave him my 1984 copy of the Kernigan & Ritchie to look at, and then we would get started into proper examples (like "Hello World" because it is in there, along many other practical examples).
