Hi all,

I’m a new member in this group. I used inputEx before, but now my
project partner and I want to implement a feature for inputEx. We had
a task in our university, to search an open source project and fix a
bug or implement a feature. It is our first implementation in inputEx.
We want to implement the issue number 41:
We want to add an icon or a link “send email” which send an email to
the entered mail address in EMailField.

We think we have two tasks:
First: add a button to EMailField.
Second: Add a method “sendMail()”.
In the scriptfile: inputex-email.js we have to add code. In the
“renderComponent”-Function we add the button. With getValue we get the
email address.

What do you think? Is that the right way?
Best regards,
Anne

Yes, that's the dirrect way.

By the way, you can compose stringfield and uneditable field wich contains a send button, in a combine field.

Thank you for your answer!

Are there some testcase for this project? Because we have to test our
implementation.

You can test a field, using interaction with meta field component or with some widgets.

So test it using Group, Form, ListField, CombineField, InPlaceEdit, DataTable, DataTable, InPlaceEdit. There are many example in the website or in download source.

Sorry if this obviously, but how we can add a patch-file with our
implementation? And where?

I create a new fork on github and add the code there:
https://github.com/anneha/inputex. Your comments are very welcome!
We add code in file "inputex-email.js".
Thank you!

Best regards,
Anne
