This would totally rock if it had Mac OS X support. It could be just
slave for all I care, but right now I have to use Input Director to
get between 2 machines, and then synergy to get from one machine to my
mac.

Hi,

At this stage I don't have plans to develop a Mac or Linux version. I
am considering as a long time objective, to building an adapter so
that an Input Director Master can control a Mac or Linux synergy
client.

Regs,

Shane.

That would work fine for me. Any roadmap?

It's a long time now :-) ... I've been using Input Director for years on Windows and this definitely a great tool ... I'm getting a Mac at my office any update to have a version running on it soon ????

Sorry to wake the dead... but I am getting Macs from the places I work for...
Also I would ask for it to not use Synergy, because that would mean that i already bought Synergy, so I would just use it and "be done with it".

I understand that this is a lot, but is there at least hope?

I hadn't heard of any plan to make it cross platform; bet it's a pretty complex endeavour. I can suggest 'Barrier' as an alternative to Synergy. it's a fork from an older version of Synergy, before they tried to start monetizing the application. Much lighter, it's actually more stable that Synergy (from the versions this forked off)... does the trick. I did pay for Synergy but don't like the new design, it's unnecessarily more resource demanding (which is a pain for some of my systems)... The only downside is that it hadn't received updates for a while, seems like the repo owner abandoned it, BUT there's an actively maintained fork that's not far from launching a stable I hope, Input Leap: https://github.com/input-leap/input-leap
