So I got a new work box at home, and set up input director 2.1 with my personal box and the main and the new work box as the client. The mouse keyboard both work fine.

Not shared copy and paste and i
get frequent errors from Input Director that it got no response from the IP of the client machine on the "lead" machine.

I assume since it's a work box it's firewall is pretty restricted...

Are there ports that need to be open specifically for the copy paste functionality and not for the mousing and keyboard stuff?

Thanks,

Eric-

Hi,

I'd recommend downloading and upgrading to v2.1.3, which has just released.

If you're work system runs a VPN client, they can have security policies that block traffic to the local network. There's some more details here.

Regs,

Shane.

1. On your download page, it still shows 2.1.2 not 2.1.3 as the current version. You can't even download 2.1.3 from the link you provided.

2. You REALLY need to include the version you are running in the title bar at the top of your application. It's literally not displayed in app anywhere, I had to use windows and do an about on your exe to see the imbedded file version. That's bad UI design man.

Just change your title from Input Director to Input Director <version number>  Here:

3. Next to your Periodically update checkbox, add a button for "update immediately", you literally already have the code, just let us call it whenever we want to... Especially if your first step in support is to always have us update to the newest version, even if you didnt' fix a bug that addresses our issue in that version, or that version isn't available yet (i'm running 2.1.2, the latest I can download)... really make updating and finding the version EASY, if that's your process..

I'm still having the original problem,

I was able to verify that its because of firewall settings, so the issue was not on your end. FYI.
