Hey Guys - quick question, please:

Every 24-48 hours, I get a message on my Director PC that it's lost connection with my client system despite no loss in network connectivity.  Checking systems availability on Director shows the client is offline.  To fix, I load ID from the system tray on client, Disable then Enable ID from the Home tab, and all works great again.  I can't find any logging which would tell me why it occurs but below are some environment details.

Environment Details:
  • x2 Windows 11 PCs / OS fully patched / Never locked or in standby
  • LAN connected via 10gpbs switch / same subnet / static IPv4 addresses / no firewalls between the two
  • Client connected via hostname on port 31234 which has no conflicts to my knowledge
  • It just happened a few minutes ago and ID on client currently shows network quality is Good.  Director shows quality "Average (42 errors in past hour) which is odd - love to see detail on this
  • Input Director 2.4 / use Reliable communications enabled / Network data send is Dynamic / no encryption enabled

Curious if there's a fix or scripting I can write to Disable/Enable ID but don't know what the trigger would be since there's no other break in network connectivity.

Thanks again to the devs as usual - Thanks!

Shane

Hi,

Next time it happens, can you try clicking the "Check Systems Availability" button on the "Client Systems" tab. Does that result in a red cross or green tick next to the client system?

Regs,

Shane.
