I would like to programmatically access input director so I can turn on/off access to various client computers.  I am using a progam called "autoit" and have tried every method in the autoit language to access input director and have not been successful.  Input director is in the taskbar as a hidden icon as are others.  Those are all difficult to access.
Any ideas on how to get a handle to input director?

BTW, input director is by far one the one best programs I have used over the last 30 years.

Thanks Shane,
Wiz

Hi Jim,

Have a look at the integration options documented here. If there’s an option missing that you’re after, let me know and I’ll see what I can do.

Hi Shane,  I tried your suggestion and found that the IDCmd is a local command.  As such I can disable Input Director from the host computer but can not reenable it since there is no way to connect to the disabled client except locally.

Thanks,

Hi Shane, Maybe I was not clear enough on my initial request.  I want to programmatically turn access to Input Director on/off from my host computer instead of opening the program on my host and going to the client machine and using the space bar to unselect it.

Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim,

Is the purpose of disabling Input Director on a client system to stop the cursor moving over to it, or for some other reason?

Thanks,

Shane.

Hi Shane, yes the purpose of disabling Input Diretor on a client machine is to stop the cursor from accessing it.  There are scripts which I use on several computers and I use the synch feature on Input Director.  The easy way to NOT run a script on a client computer is to disable the cursor from input direction on the client computer in question.

Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim,

Clients can be manually set to 'skip' on the "Client Systems" tab. I could look at adding an option to the command line tool in the next version so that you could turn this on/off per client. Would that work?

Hi Shane,  I don't think I have made myself clear so let me try it again.  I want to be able to access Input Director on my Host Computer only (this controls all the clients), go to the Clients Icon, and skip a client machine.  I currently do this manually and press the space bar after selecting a client to skip.  I want to programmatically do this using my automation program call "Autoit".  I have been unable to get a "handle" to Input Director since it resides in the hidden icons section of the Windows 11 taskbar.  I have been able to get a handle on any program I have tried so far using "Autoit" except Input Director.
I hope I have explained this better than I have in the previous posts.

Thanks,
Jim
