Hi,
I am trying to set up Input Director (v2.4) between two Windows computers connected directly via an Ethernet cable.
Here is my setup:
Computer 1 (Master): IP 192.168.5.1
Computer 2 (Slave - Alienware): IP 192.168.5.2
Connection: Direct LAN cable, static IPs assigned.
Status: ping 192.168.5.2 from the Master works perfectly.
The problem: The Input Director "Scan" function finds nothing. When I manually add the Slave (192.168.5.2) to the "Client Systems" list on the Master, the list remains empty or the status shows "Disconnected".
What I have already tried:
Firewall is configured to allow InputDirector.exe (both Private and Public networks).
I have also tested with the Firewall temporarily disabled on both machines (still no connection).
"Enable as Slave" is active on the Alienware machine.
No password protection is enabled (or passwords match on both sides).
Network profile is set to "Private".
The service is running on both machines.
Could you please advise what might be blocking the connection if the network layer (ping) is clearly working? Are there any specific logs I should check to see why the handshake is failing?
Thanks for your help! -Borys
