Can't Connect my 2 Devices, one uses Wi-Fi and the other is connected wired via Ethernet Cable

Hi,

I'm having a hard time connecting my 2 devices. I recently got a PC and currently it only has ethernet for me to be able to connect it to the internet.

I have a laptop that I would like to control using the keyboard and mouse connected to my PC, but I am unable to find the laptop in the "Scan network candidate" button. I tried manually entering the host name too but it can't find it.

I'm not using any VPN on both devices. Is there a way for me to connect these two or do I really have to be wireless on my PC to connect them?
