Multiple ripple then "failed to respond"

Hello! I've been recently having trouble with connecting to a new system. It's a Legion Go with a dock connected to another monitor. Sometimes when I have recently connected the Legion Go to the dock and attempt a mouse screen transition to it, the Legion will show 6 "ripple" transition effects at the edge of the window before the primary machine declares that the connection with the Legion had failed to respond. Anyone else having this issue and possible fix?

This usually happens due for one or both of the following reasons:

1. There is a 3rd party firewall or security product running on one of the computers blocking Input director traffic. A VPN client can also be the culprit. If this is the case, rules need to added to allow Input Director traffic to flow. 

2. The network configuration is setup such that Input Director is trying to communicate across the wrong network. This can be fixed by setting the preferred network in Input Director on both computers.
