I can restart Input Director and I can access my slave computer - until I get this error on my master computer. It's like my master can communicate with the slave, but the slave can't communicate back with the master (and I can't get the mouse back over to the master computer without using the shortcut keyboard use). Any suggestions or thoughts, this just happened today, it's been working previously.

here's a shot in the dark in case it helps.. I had exactly the same problem, after using ID for years without such glitches. I discovered, by trial and error, that running fraps on the master caused exactly these symptoms. The slave would disconnect while under control seemingly at random, causing loss of mouse/keyboard focus on the master also. I also suspect that the install/registry order of ID and fraps could be significant as when I switch master/slave roles, my usual client could run fraps without causing any problems for ID as master.

I still use fraps but turn it off when using ID and get no problems now. If you run any apps similar to fraps maybe this helps?

Thanks for the response. I don't use FRAPS or similar recording info. However, I recently had a hack attempt into the computer - so I wonder if that added registry items such as the FRAPS (or similar) that you mentioned.

Also, you gave me a good idea, I can (from my normal master) add the normal slave computer - though it doesn't recognize it. However, if I attempt to make my normal slave the master and find the slave (my normal master) it returns "Hostname "aaaa" doesn't exist." And yes, I matched up the host name to the other computer (and port) to make sure it's correct.
