Mouse jumping back to the middle of the screen I'm trying to switch away from

When I try to switch to the other monitor through the side, the crosshairs appear at the middle of the screen i want to switch TO, but the mouse jumps back to the center of the screen i want to switch FROM. So I have to drag my mouse through the screen edge twice to get to the screen right next to it.

This does not happen if place the monitors vertically in Client System.

Any idea what is happening?
