Hi everyone.
I use Input Director to control two PCs with a single keyboard and mouse. I run World of Warcraft on my main PC (Master), and I use the secondary PC (Slave) for background tasks, seamlessly moving the cursor between monitors.
I contacted Blizzard support to ask if this software KVM violates their input broadcasting policy. Their exact reply was:
"The use of this type of software is now prohibited for World of Warcraft and WoW Classic. You must ensure that the keystrokes reaching the game come directly from the device. We understand that in your case this would mean connecting an additional keyboard or a switch, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."
My current setup is that I run WoW only on the main PC. My peripherals are connected directly via USB to this rig, so the game receives pure hardware inputs. The problem is that Input Director relies on global Windows hooks to detect when the mouse hits the edge of the screen to switch control.
Knowing how aggressive Warden (the anti-cheat) is when scanning background hooks, my question is:
Has anyone been banned (or hit by a false positive) in World of Warcraft simply for running Input Director, Synergy, or a similar software KVM in the background on their main PC, even with zero multiboxing or key cloning involved?
Thanks.
