Encryption if no DCOM available on client PC

Hi,

I have just created a MIDAS application, and I used a
TSocketConnection in the client to connect with the application
server. Then I started reading about encrypting the data to avoid (or at
least make it harder) hacking the application.
I´ve found in the Delphi's help files that I must use the InterceptGUID
property to link to a DCOM object who would be built as in the INTRCPT
sample. But I have the following problem: DCOM is not installed in every
client PC (and I cannot demand the users to install it), so I need
another way of encrypting the data.
What could I do? Should I create my own TSocketConnection-inherited
component?

Any help would be appreciated.
