What is Delphi/400?

Hello,
I have a newbie question: What is Delphi/400? Is that another expression for
Delphi 4.0 ???

Hello Christian,

Delphi/400 is a 'suite of proffessionally integrated components allowing
Delphi developers to access IBM's AS/400".

It provides both an SNA and TCP/IP link to the AS/400. It allows Delphi to
access AS/400 data files, dataqueues, data areas, message queues, etc. It
provides a variety of handy utilities and such what.
They used to only sell it with Delphi Enterprise - but I think that has
changed. Check out their Web site http://www.systemobjects.com

If you are looking at accessing the AS/400 - you should also check out
www.missystems.com . They provide the other main stream package for access
the AS/400.

Is Delphi/400 a separate product? Or it comes with the Enterprise version?

Delphi/400 is a bundle of Delphi + ClientObjects/400 to add AS/400 native
driver and special AS/400 components.
Delphi/400 exists in two version Professional and Enterprise Edition. It
includes either Delphi Professional of Enterprise license.
If you have yet the Delphi license, you can upgrade this to Delphi/400,
depending on what license you have.
