I'm trying to write a COM object to access data on our AS/400 from our web
server for our external sales people...

It works, but... If the user gets the wrong password, a database login
dialog pops up on the web-server desktop... How can I return an error
instead? The user's browser finally times out and the end user would be
left wondering what happened.

I'm currently using a Client Access ODBC driver because I have been unable
to get ADO Provider IBMDA400 to work.

I would prefer to use ADO and the IBMDA400 provider...

Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Lee

What version of CA/400 are you using? Have you made sure you have the
latest Service Pack(s) installed? Also, for the ADO provider to work with the
AS/400, you need to STRHOSTSVR *DDM. You can also check the APAR's on the
Client Access page of the www.as400.ibm.com web site to see if there are any
PTF's which need to be applied. Finally, you need to check which version of
ADO works with your version of CA/400(for instance, V3R2M0 only supports ADO
2.0 or 2.1...I couldn't get 2.5 to work with it). Hope this helps...
