For me, lighting mods are a must-have! They add so much to the visuals of this already beautiful game. They bring this game to life in a whole new way! ? Aaaaand they make it even better to get amazing screenshots.
Whether you seek vibrant colors, realistic shadows, or atmospheric lighting, the vast array of lighting mods has got you covered. So, embrace the magic of these mods, experiment with different settings, and let your Sims bask in the glow of a beautifully illuminated virtual universe.
Sunblind is a fully custom, realistic lighting overhaul created for The Sims 4. Unlike my previous mods, none of the lighting in this mod is based on existing EA lighting and each world is individually tuned to ensure the best possible fit. Some other features include:
2. To install the base game files, IN YOUR GAME FILES AND THE LIGHTING MOD FILES, navigate to data\shared\worlds\areas, copy the files from the lighting mods folder, paste them into the game files folder, and replace the files when prompted.
So I had a Lighting Mod saved in my backups folder and decided to throw it into my Praaven Mods folder to give it a try. ? (I also threw in the Realistic Clouds Mod as well. )
(The lighting mod I had was Burnt Waffles Fresh Cut Day 2.5 with IP water)
As gorgeous as that all looked I felt like the IP water was a bit too bright and tropical for a world like Praaven. So, I went back to Burnt Waffles site and got the same lighting mod (switched to the 3.0 version for longer daylight, I felt it necessary for this world) but with Lucky Palms water instead as I felt that would fit better.
default replacement of the lighting in create a sim:- three variants,- place in your mods folder,- use only one cas lighting mod at a time,- picture backgrounds: turing, maathai, carroll;download - xhave a happy cas time :)
@TristanydanielleJust to be clear, and because I'm curious:
There are three ways you can get to build/buy in the game:
1) There's a family living on the lot, which you are playing, and you click on build/buy. Any options with lights will depend on what you've selected as well as lot-type, and there are limitations on what you can buy.
2) You're in Manage Worlds, a family is living on the lot, and you choose "Build" without going into play mode first. There will still be some limitations on what you can buy. And, I think, what lighting options you've selected in live mode, as well as lot-type.
3) No one living on the lot at all, and you choose "Build" from Manage Worlds. Very curious if this one works or not because it is basically a "free" build mode, where you have no limitations on what you can buy, and you cannot set lighting in any way without a Sim living on site.
Hello good afternoon. The plugin is a very real success and above all it gives a very Real and bright lighting. But the taxi lights. When putting this plugin does not illuminate the taxiways. There will be a solution for this thank you very much
Sorry that youre having problemsThat is curious, it should just work. All the light mods are contained only in the 738lights.obj I did not touch the .acf and the prefs does not hold light data. Once youve backed up your 738lights.obj just overwrite it with mine and then load the sim. I tested this a lot before I uploaded the file. Let me know how it goes...
Thanks for the list! You are one of my fave youtubers! Whenever I feel sad I watch your videos and your positivity cheers me up. Plus, you convinced me to switch to sims 3! I am having more fun than ever with sims! Sorry I went on a rant. Love your content!
(also thanks for accepting my friend request on origin)
?
I am not sure why, but whenever I use the MasterController and the Integration mods in my Sims 3 game, it causes my game to freeze up every time. None of the other mods seem to cause any problems, but these do, for some strange reason. Any suggestions?
Hi Cindy!
I was wondering if you had any good guides on how to run The Sims 3 with less or minimal lag? I found a thread on Twitter a while back and followed most of those guidelines (including downloading NRAAS and some of the essential mods you listed above), but unfortunately still have some lag in my game. I was wondering if you had any trouble with the infamous Sims 3 lag issues, and if so, what you did to help fix it.
I absolutely love your content, and how you are keeping the amazing games that are The Sims 2 and The Sims 3 alive.
Thank you!
Note: You should always be careful when adding mods to your game, whenever there is an update for the game these tend to break and prevent your game from loading. Please always read the instructions that come with any mods that you download.
These mods are used by our very own @Moza_Jf -mod and worked for her in Midnight Hollow. There are many many options for you to choose from, you can only have 1 lighting mod at a time in your game though. Make sure to read the instructions!
So what is the difference between a Mod and Custom Content or CC? Well, it is quite simple, a Mod changes or adds gameplay or the game framework, whereas CC adds content elements to the game. So for example; clothing, makeup, hair, furniture, flooring, and wallpaper are all examples of CC. Downloadable lighting, traits, interactive items, presets, and added actions are considered Mods.
There are a ton of reasons why I use Mods and CC in my Sims 4 game. Most of my reasons are to add things or change things visually. These are my top five reasons why I use Mods. I rarely play out of CAS but when I do I definitely use mods and CC to do so. For me personally, I could maybe play without mods but definitely not CC. Wait no. Not at all I need pose player and columns.
For those of us Simmers that enjoy Sim modeling and screenshot editing, there are a few visual elements that make it a bit harder for in-game screenshots. But fortunately, you can replace that Create a Sim Background and even get rid of the dreaded blue lighting all with mods. If you want to get really crazy you can even go down the Reshade route and totally change how your game looks visually.
There are some Simmers that will not use mods ever, meaning they only use what is developed by EA. There are several reasons other than personal preference for this; fear of viruses and malware, computer limitations, and mod installation difficulties. Sometimes if Simmers have a bad experience with CC or mods messing up their game it is just easier not to reinstall mods and CC. This is why it is VERY important to be careful where you get your Mods and CC. You do not want broken mods or CC as it can be quite the battle to get things fixed.
this is a cas lighting mod made to match the cas room that a lot of ppl use. ones like this (mts) or this. its a bit moody and warm, but has a balance of pretty lighting and still suited for general sim making :-) obviously it can be used with any cas background! it was just made with the room ones in mind :)!
this was made for personal use, but a lot of people use the maxis match lighting mod by dreadpirate so i thought it could be useful to release.
originally, there was a weird issue where lights appeared to not be receiving light while outside at night. it turns out the value for practical lighting in that case was so low that it was almost impossible to see any light source show up on objects.
I retuned it to a value that was bright enough to be realistic, but nowhere near overpowering. The only thing it affects is outdoor lighting at night.
You need to have the original maxis match lighting mod installed!! This replaces Lighting.txt in Double Deluxe>Base>TSData>Res>Lights.
SFS DL - Updated March 5, 21.
Redownload the new update if you have red flashing in the neighborhood- For some reason, I had to make the lights fall off sooner (.1 to .18), so to compensate, the pract. light increased from 3.8 to 4.
please let me know if there are any issues! :)
Kikiwalu over at Game Ali has released an adjustable indoor lighting mod. Many folks have complained about their homes being very dark, and now you can change the lighting to suit your style. The creator states that this mod only changes the lighting indoors, and not in the world. Download here.
Hi Everybody,
My night lighting edits are complete. For those that want to give them a try I've enclosed a temporary download location (you tube) until I can upload these to a web site.
