Sanam is an Indian pop rock band formed in 2010 currently based in Mumbai, India known for its renditions of old classic Indian Bollywood songs as well as its original music. The band SANAM consists of four partners Sanam Puri (lead vocalist), Samar Puri (lead guitar), Venky S or Venkat Subramaniyam (bass guitar) and Keshav Dhanraj (drummer).[1][2][3] In 2016, the band was amongst India's top 10 independent YouTube Channels, India's biggest music artist on the digital platform and the fastest growing YouTube channel in the country.[4][5][6]
The band was awarded the Best Music Content Creator (National Category) at the Social Media Summit & Awards in Amaravati in 2017 by AP Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya and MP Kesineni Srinivas.[7][8][9]
The band performed in the capital Male at the VMY Music Festival in July 2015, which commemorated the 50th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Maldives.[30] The Ballard Estate Festival in Mumbai was formally inaugurated by the chief guest Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India on 24 January, followed by the headlining performance by Sanam band. The event was attended by eminent personalities such as actress and politician Hema Malini.[31]
In February 2018, Sanam was declared the artist of the month on MTV Beats for its new release "Sanam Mennu".[42] MTV Beats the 24x7 Hindi Music TV Channel, through a series of specially curated shows under the concept of Month of love, featured SANAM Band in three of its shows. The first two were "Spotlight: Dil Beats with Sanam Band" and "Love shots" which were all about love and romance and third was the kicking off episode of "Gaano Ka Rafu Centre 2.0" hosted by Sahil Khattar.[43][44][45][46][47] In December 2018, SANAM band was featured on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine.[48]
"Sanam Re" is an Indian Hindi-language song written and composed by Mithoon from the 2016 soundtrack album to the film of the same name. The song is sung by Arijit Singh. The track was officially released on 22 December 2015.[1]
The song has been sampled in several hip hop songs, particularly in the subgenre of drill. It was first sampled in "Exposing Me" (2018) by Chicago drill rapper Memo600, which was remixed in a 2019 version featuring King Von.[2] Further remixes of "Exposing Me" were made by FBG Duck, featuring Rooga, and 22Gz. American rapper CJ sampled the song in his track "Whoopty" (2020).[3] Other notable samples include "Vergeet De Buurt Nooit" by Lijpe and "Face To Face" by Italian rapper Rondodasosa.[4]
O.. hum dil de chuke sanam
Tere ho gaye hain hum, teri kasam
Teri yaadon ke saaye mein guzregi yeh zindagi
Us khuda ke baad toh pooja hogi bas teri
Chaahe jo maang lo sab tumhara hai
Chaahe jo maang lo sab tumhara hai
The title song of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam is a masterclass in film making and conveying a plethora of emotions. Every scene, every musical piece is choreographed to the T. Without lip sync and any dance movements, this song tells a story of its own. It is the climax song of this film, where Vanraj finally manages to contact Sameer and he proceeds to fulfil his responsibility, that of handing over his wife Nandini, to her ex lover Sameer. The usage of color, choice of musical genre, the emotions, everything in this song is larger than life.
The prelude of this song starts with a phone call that Vanraj (Ajay Devgn) gets. Both Nandini (Aishwarya Rai) and Vanraj are in white attire, and Nandini, who is already in 2 minds, sees that her fears are coming true. Her eyes here speak volumes.
The opera music that we heard at the start is back. Vanraj immediately turns back along with Nandini, and they see Sameer. Vanraj still has his hand over her shoulder and slowly releases it. While Nandini is all smiles, Vanraj is shocked. With the grand music and Sameer running towards Nandini over the bridge, it feels like this is the interval portion of the song. Nandini then runs towards him and it all looks spectacular.
And suddenly the car halts exactly once the music is back to the strings, and it is like Vanraj woke up from a bad dream. The mood of the music also changes there with the flutes coming in, and even the strings sound Arabic this time around, conveying a more melancholic tune. And just when the car is on the bridge, the music feels like a wave almost steeling down, before the second Antara picks up. The waves of a sea, which were high, have now mellowed down into a repeated pattern.

I hummed the song to find out where 'sanam' occurs
and I noticed something interesting. Who is
'sanam' in the line 'hum tumhaare hai.n sanam, tum
hame.n pahachaan lo'? Is Shammi Kapoor (singer)
calling his lady love Rajashri 'sanam' or being a
boisterous Shammi as usual, declaring himself as
her sanam. The way Rafi drags 'sanam' while
singing it, I would think it is prior. Nice
little word play by the lyricist (Shailendra /
Hasarat ?).Anant[ Some of these Shammi songs are much better to
watch than just listening them.]> Nita

I agree. And here are two more 'Sanam' additions:1. Sanam raah bhoole, yahan aatey aatey (Lootera: Lata, LP): Yet
another song with extremely ordinary lyrics ( no marks for guessing by
whom), but a very good composition by LP (all the hallmarks of
Pyarelal's orchestration are there in the interlude)together with
wonderful rendering by Lata.2. Tera Khat Leke sanam Paon kahin rakhte hain hum.." ( Ardhangini:
Lata, Vasant Desai). Another lovely song....Pradeep

Last year, actress Nafisa Ali shared a clip of singer Lucky Ali performing his song O Sanam in Goa and it went instantly and madly viral. Now, he's taking the collaboration, if you will, to the next level - a song composed and recorded by the singer specially for Nafisa Ali. The Junoon star wrote in an Instagram post, "I am so ecstatic as my friend Lucky Ali is producing, composing and recording a song specially for me. Lucky has the voice that touches hearts. Wish us luck and thank you to director and producer Arjun Nirula for agreeing make this into a music video. Will keep you posted and wish us all blessings (please) to harmonise the soulful music of our legendary 'Ali.'"
After the clip went viral, Nafisa Ali told DNA that she and Lucky Ali were at a performance of young singers in Goa. "When it all came to an end, they said, Sir please sing us a song, and now Lucky said, Nafisa, you've put me in a spot. I said what did you think, you are their guru, you are the legend. If they want you to sing one song, I feel you show them how you sing. Then I just quickly put my camera on and recorded it," she told DNA.
