Side event to Third Rio+20 Intersessional on “Rio+20: A Global Innovation Summit?” will take place
Monday 19th of March 2012, 7.00 – 7.45 PM
Conference Room B, UN HQ, NLB

The Innovation4Rio side event has a joint 1 ½ hours time slot with Action Group on Erosion, Technology and Concentration (ETC Group) and their side event „The Role of Technology in the ‘Green Economy’ and the need for Technology Assessment” which will take place 6.15-7.00 PM in the same room (find attached more information).

The “Rio+20: A Global Innovation Summit?” side event is being organized with following partner organizations:

Agenda of the workshop:

1. We will start the workshop by introducing the different cluster members and their approaches to and thoughts on the relevance of Innovation for Rio+20 with some colleagues (Sara, Cristiano,..) joining us via skype (to be confirmed).

2. Next agenda item will be to discuss the Issues cluster submission to the Zero Draft of the Rio+20 Outcome document http://www.glocha.info/attachments/article/186/TheFutureWeWant_ZeroDraftoftheOutcomeDocument_AmmendmentsinnovationClustervers01.pdf.

3. Third we will discuss and improve our “Innovation for Sustainable Development” (informal) Issues brief of which I am attaching a first draft version (those who will not be in NY are welcome to provide feed-back to the issues brief via email)

4. Finally we will elaborate the detailed agenda for the side event which is supposed to be focused on presenting innovation&Rio+20 related activities of co-organizers and of the draft issues brief
