Over the last 8 years Loop 2.4.3‘s New York Percussion Duo has toured
the country, developing it’s own brand of percussion-based music,
sometimes adding voice, electronics, keyboards and strings. Their
performance on the Vortex Series will consist of music from their
newly-released 3rd album, and will showcase the steel drum, marimba,
Native American flute, and two instruments of their own invention: the
Rose Echo, and the Elog (electronic log drum). Loop 2.4.3’s much
lauded live performances have earned responses such as “fascinating”,
“richly detailed”, “hypnotic” (Time Out New York), “mesmerizing” and
“stunning” (Time Out Chicago), “Transportive” (the Boston Phoenix),
and in a nod to their originality, NPR’s Fresh Air said that “it all
sounds like part of a well-thought-out tradition. Only the tradition
has never existed until now.” The new album is described as "Visceral
and satisfying...an astonishing variety of brand-new yet iconic sounds
that create a riveting aura, a genuine time warp - all in
astonishingly intimate and dynamic, demonstration-quality sound."
Gramophone. Copies of the new album will be available on CD and 12”
vinyl, as well as posters and T-shirts featuring New York City artist
John Waldo’s colorful artwork. Visit www.loop243.com for more
