Get detail/reason for download failure?

I'm using idpAddFile and idpDownloadFiles to compile a list of files and then download them. idpDownloadFiles only returns true/false for it's result. Is there a way I get can get more detail about the error, IE 'host not found', 'SSL certificate bad', etc?
