Hi all

I’m inviting you to participate in the upcoming Yoga of Recovery mentorship, which kicks off on Monday March 4 and runs until May 29. This mentorship is structured a bit different than the other ones, as it requires you to run an 8 week, Yoga of Recovery class series, beginning April 1 and running until May 24. So even though we are kicking off the mentorship at the beginning of March with calls and a webinar from Durga, you will have time in the first month of the mentorship to establish your class series. Some tips on how to select a venue and promote your class series are listed below. You can see the detailed outline attached, Durga’s presentation on March 7 will very much prepare you to run your 8 week class series.

Please let me know by Feb 22 if you plan to participate. Cost is $250. As always, the calls / webinars will be posted and recorded if you cannot attend live.

Warmly
Michele

Tips on how to establish your 8 week Yoga of Recovery class series.
* You don’t need to hold this class in a yoga studio. In fact, it might be more attractive to those in recovery if you select another venue, such as church basements, Elks clubs, community centers etc. Perhaps find out what spaces might be available in your community. Where are 12 step meetings currently being held? Can you reach out to recovery centers in your community and see if they have space available?
* The venue you select may also be a resource to get the word out about your offering to those in recovery. If not, it still is important to reach out to 12 step groups and recovery centers in your area to let them know that you are offering this class so that you can get participants. Who are addiction counselors in their area? What are the resources in their area? Contact the county for resources.
* Don’t make all of the classes compulsory (show up for any)
* Make it a low price (suggested donation), limited number of space, students must provide intake & outtake. No one will be turned away for lack of funds
* Encourage participants to bring a friend
* Make the invitation as broad possible, but it’s not a front-line detox invitation. Ideally for those who are 90 days continuously sober. Includes all people affected by addictions in our society.
